A Falcon 9 launch vehicle carrying 54 satellites took off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 16:32 local time on December 17.
This was the fifteenth launch and landing of the first stage of this Falcon 9 launch vehicle, which had previously launched the Crew Demo-2, ANASIS-II, CRS-21, Transporter-1, Transporter-3 and now the tenth Starlink mission.
Currently, more than 3,500 satellites of the Starlink system have been launched into Earth orbit, out of the approximately 40,000 planned. The first launch took place in February 2018.
As Ukrinform reported, on December 8, SpaceX launched 40 OneWeb satellites, a network of Internet satellites that rival the Starlink system, into orbit.
