The latest beta version of WhatsApp is available for iOS and includes an option that allows the user to block certain people from seeing their status “Last visited”. The “last visit” status provides information that allows you to guess whether the recipient has seen the message.

Currently, this feature can be turned off completely. The new option allows users to select specific people who will not see your “Last Visited” status. At the same time, you will not be able to see information about recent visits to people on your exception list.

The beta also includes new controls for profile photos and other privacy changes, including an “About Me” section.

WhatsApp Messenger offers four privacy levels by category:

• “Everything”,
• “My Contacts”,
• “No one”,
• “Except my contacts”.

This way, you can hide all personal information for individuals so that like all strangers, they can’t find out about reading their messages or get information about recent activity. Similarly, you can limit information to at least a few hundred people in the address book who will lose access to personal private information.

Beta testing of the new WhatsApp update has started on both Android and iOS. A working version of this feature may be available as soon as possible.
