Twitter has announced that it will no longer allow users to advertise accounts from other social networks on its platform.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by CNBC.

“We are aware that many of our users are active on other social media platforms. However, we will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on our platform.”

He said that after Elon Musk bought the company for $44 billion in October, many users started sharing their accounts on Twitter and other social networks.

Twitter said the company will continue to allow cross-posting from different platforms, but posting tweets like “follow me on Instagram” now violates social networking policy.

If users violate this new policy, they will have to remove those tweets containing the link. Accounts may also be temporarily blocked or suspended.

The company will remove any accounts that try to circumvent the rules by posting screenshots of their other accounts on other social networks.

As reported by Ukrinform, the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, agreed to unblock the accounts of some journalists from the leading American media, two days after the implementation of this measure.
