Internet Explorer’s last “death date” has been revealed

Microsoft named the old Internet Explorer browser the “date of death”. This has been reported by the XDA post.

The company has announced that the current version of Internet Explorer 11 will finally stop working on computers running Windows starting February 14, 2023. First of all, the old browser will be disabled on PCs with Windows 10, then on devices running other operating systems.

The gradual replacement of Internet Explorer Edge on computers running Windows 10 is expected to encourage users to abandon the old browser. According to media reporters, the “death” of Internet Explorer is inevitable – Microsoft has only introduced a delay so that consumers can safely switch to the Edge browser.

At the same time, the so-called IE mode will remain in Edge, allowing you to open websites as if they were running in Internet Explorer. This option is designed for enterprise users and developers who need some features of IE.

Internet Explorer is a browser developed by Microsoft from 1995 to 2015. The last stable version of Internet Explorer 11 was released in April 2014.
