Last year, Google started showing air quality data to Nest Hub users. You can now also see the air quality in Google search. But so far only in the United States and India.
A search for “air quality” in the United States will show a map with all the information you need to specify in the query. Data from Airnow.gov and PurpleAir.
Below the map is a description of the US air quality index and a list of stations from which samples were taken. Each record can be expanded to get a detailed description of the results and see when it was last updated, as well as the specific data provider.
If there aren’t enough stations, you can use the “turn on weather sensors” option, but Google notes that “sensor data may have unknown properties and inaccuracies”.
The feature first appeared in India last November. It works on both mobile and desktop computers, as well as Google apps for Android and iOS.
