Astrophysicists from the United States have discovered a new way to search for alien spaceships. For this, it is proposed to use not only ordinary radio telescopes, but also gravity detectors. This method is based on the assumption that humanity is not alone in the universe, only that Earth’s instruments are not yet perfect enough to find evidence of extraterrestrial life.

The idea is that a sufficiently advanced civilization would have the ability to build a spacecraft of great size and mass. Its acceleration can cause gravitational waves that people have already learned to detect with detectors. In addition, such devices simultaneously study the entire sky, and not a small area, like optical or radio telescopes.

For now, of course, this is just an idea – all explanations are presented on the previous posts arXiv portal. But it does not violate the laws of physics and is therefore purely technically applicable.

Judging by the calculations, the existing interferometers LIGO, VIRGO and KAGRA can detect an alien ship 326 thousand light-years, that is, three times the diameter of the Milky Way (about 106 thousand light-years). But for this to happen, the hypothetical ship would have to have a mass of ten Jupiters and accelerate at 1/10 the speed of light. But a Mercury-sized object can only be detected within a radius of 32 light-years at the same speed.

And if Alcubierre balloon technology ever becomes a reality, then such ships will also create powerful gravitational waves that can be viewed from a huge distance.
