Microsoft acknowledged a critical crash in Windows 10 caused by a system update. This was reported by BleepingComputer.
The company said that the operating system update KB5021233 may cause the BSoD (Blue Screen of Death) error. Ultimately, the problem is due to the incompatibility of the hidparse.sys system document with other files in the system32/drivers directory.
Microsoft representatives explained that the error was observed on computers running Windows 10 up to the current version 22H2. Users experiencing problems were advised to move the hidparse.sys file from the system32 folder to the system32\drivers directory via the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
“Using any workarounds other than those suggested above is not recommended. We do not recommend removing hidparse.sys from the windows\system32 folder”, – Highlighted at Microsoft. The company’s engineers said they are working on a patch that resolves the issue.
