Sony has started working on an improved PS5 console. This was reported by Insider Gaming.

Gaming media reporters reviewed an interview with Japanese publication Famitsu by Hideaki Nishino, senior vice president of SIE Platform Experience. The portal’s authors reminded Nishino that Sony had released an enhanced PS4 Pro three years after the PlayStation 4 was released. In response, a company representative hinted to reporters that the company is working on a new console.

“I hope you look forward to next year”, – stressed Hideaki Nishino. According to the top executive, total sales of PlayStation consoles should exceed 37 million units by the end of 2022. Journalists admitted that the company representative gave a vague response, but it is unlikely that the company will comment before the PS5 Pro is released.

The authors of Insider Gaming stated that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be more powerful than the PS5. It looks like the device will have a removable disk drive just like in the new version of Sony’s next-gen console.

PS5 went on sale in November 2020. Its predecessor – PS4 – was released in November 2013. At the end of 2016, Sony announced the PlayStation 4 Pro.
