The Digital Foundry, a division of Eurogamer that specializes in assessing the technical condition of video games, has released a list of 2022 projects with the best graphics.

Experts awarded the first place to the version of the game Horizon Forbidden West. The game was praised for its high-quality skin textures and facial animations. The development of the game world was also praised. On both PS5 and PS4, environments in Horizon Forbidden West look great, although the quality of detail varies greatly. Digital Foundry believes Horizon Forbidden West is a living example of how flexible graphics can be tuned when developing a game for different generation consoles.

In second place was the space horror The Calisto Protocol. Describing the graphics in the game as very realistic, experts noted that the project can compete for the first place, but there are still many unsolved technical problems since its release.

The first three are covered by the RTX-powered version of Portal, a technology for realistic simulation of light physics. According to the Digital Foundry, Valve’s 15-year-old game has changed drastically with the inclusion of RTX, which is surprising because Portal was built from the start without relying on modern technologies.
