South Korea’s Samsung Electronics plans to increase its chip manufacturing capacity at its largest semiconductor factory next year.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.
According to interlocutors, Samsung plans to expand its P3 factory in Pyeongtaek (South Korea) by adding 12-inch wafers for DRAM memory chips.
The company also plans to expand the facility with an additional 4 nanometers of chip capacity.
Having started producing advanced NAND flash memory chips this year, the P3 is the company’s largest chip manufacturing venture.
Analysts suggest Samsung’s investment plans will help the company capture memory chip market share and support the stock price as chip demand picks up.
As reported by Ukrinform, TSMC, the world’s largest independent semiconductor manufacturing company based in Taiwan, is negotiating to establish its first European factory in Dresden, Germany.
