The leaked image confirmed the release date of the new one Ryzen 7000 “non-X” seriesand it’s the same one we gave you a few weeks ago, January 10, 2023. It’s no coincidence that AMD chose this date because it will allow it to compete with the new Intel Core Gen13 “non-K ” series that will also hit the market early 2023.
We know that AMD has prepared the launch of three different models, the so-called Ryzen 9 7900, which will have 12 cores and 24 threads at 3.7 GHz-5.4 GHz and 76 MB cache, Ryzen 7 7700which will have 8 cores and 16 threads at 3.8 GHz-5.3 GHz and have 40 MB cache, and Ryzen 5 7600, which will add 6 cores and 12 threads at 3.8GHz-5.1GHz and will have 38MB of cache. Caches are the sum of L2 and L3 additions.
Price will be one of the big attractions of these new AMD processors, as they will be much cheaper than the “X” version, and yet the performance difference between the two will be minimal. The latest leaks suggest that the Ryzen 9 7900 will cost $429 ($120 less than the Model X), the Ryzen 7 7700 will cost $329 ($70 less than the Model X), and the Ryzen 5 7600 will cost $229. ($70 less than the Model X).
The only difference between these new Ryzen 7000 and the X models will be on working frequencies, and in TDP, which will of course be lower for “non-X” models. The three processors we named will have TDP 65 wattsmeaning they could work well with the reference fan each one brings, at least in theory.
In terms of performance, a significant jump can be expected from the previous generation. A new leaked image reveals that the Ryzen 9 7900 outperforms the Ryzen 9 5900X in games by an average of 19%.. In some titles the victory in favor of the first 35% and in others only 3%. It all also ultimately depends on the optimization of each title and its CPU dependency.
Please note that the prices we have quoted they are triggers. Currently the Ryzen 7000X costs much less and this could force AMD to adjust the launch price of the Ryzen 7000, because at the current levels and values we have seen they would eventually step on it, that is, it would be too close and their price ratio /performance could be blurry compared to the X models.
