Since the beginning of the far-reaching invasion of the Russian Federation, SBU cyber experts have exposed more than 1,200 instigators who spread fake and Russian narratives on the Internet.

About 600 of them have already received reports of suspicion. As reported by Ukrinform, the press service of the State Security Service of Ukraine reported this in Telegram, with reference to Ilya Vityuk, the head of the SBU Cybersecurity Department.

“The SBU detects traitors, agitators and collaborators operating in the internet space. Today, we have about 1,200 criminal prosecutions against them, 600 people involved in the incident have been suspected and around 230 people have been sentenced to various prison terms.” said.

He added that at present, Russian information diversions are no longer the threat they used to be. Because the SBU is particularly proactive, it tries to work ahead of schedule rather than struggling with consequences.

Vityuk also stressed that the Security Service is conducting its own special information operations aimed at reducing the influence of Russian propaganda.

“This year, they blocked 45 large-scale bot farms with a capacity of more than 2 million fake accounts, about 500 pro-Russian YouTube channels with more than 15 million subscribers, and about a thousand information sources that work against Ukraine,” Vityuk said.

At the same time, he noted that the strong cyber resistance is the result of the interaction of many individuals and organizations, because the citizens of Ukraine have turned into a real cyber defense.

As reported by Ukrinform, the cyber police blocked more than three thousand hostile Internet resources with the help of Telegram bots, whose audience is more than 23 million.
