The Internet has been partially restored in about 80% of Ukrainian cities liberated from Russian invaders. More than 2,500 Ukrainian schools have Wi-Fi in shelters.
This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in Telegram.
“Despite the mass war, we continue to deploy and restore high-speed internet in Ukraine. For people to keep in touch with their relatives. 80% of the liberated cities have partially restored the internet. The Russian Federation army left behind destroyed infrastructure, hundreds of kilometers of damaged cables …” – reads the message.
The ministry recalled that internet coverage in Ukraine is the largest in Europe. This year, more than 130,000 Ukrainians in 420 villages were able to connect their homes to the Internet for the first time. And 1,140 social institutions received Wi-Fi. At the same time, more than 2,500 schools have Wi-Fi in shelters.
As reported, Ukraine is currently among the countries with the largest number of Starlink terminals. Since the beginning of the full-scale occupation of the Russian Federation, the country has received more than 22,000 terminals on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital.
