Apple is seriously concerned about the low sales of the iPhone 14 Plus and is considering how to introduce a basic smartphone model with an increased screen diagonal in the iPhone 15 series, MacRumors reported this, citing insider yeux1122.
According to yeux1122, Apple is now choosing between two new strategies. In the first case, the American company plans to continue to increase the functional difference between the basic iPhone and the iPhone Pro series. Secondly, Apple may reduce the cost of the iPhone 15 Plus compared to the price of the iPhone 14 Plus, in order to make the base model with the increased screen diagonal more attractive to buyers.
MacRumors believes that in the latter case, Apple will most likely cut the cost of the iPhone 15 Plus by $100, to $799. Also, journalists believe that in such a scenario, the company will have to lower the price of the base iPhone 15 so that the Plus version does not match the price tag.
MacRumors noted that although yeux1122’s information reflects data from another well-known analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, an insider should be treated with great suspicion. The fact is that earlier yeux1122 made both true and completely false statements about Apple’s business.
