Samsung announced a new variant of the convertible Galaxy Book2 Pro 360. The model, which was already available with twelfth-generation Intel Core processors, now includes a Qualcomm SoC, which allows it to break the record for autonomy in a notebook with a tremendous 35 hours video playback.

The Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 maintains its own convertible format with a 360-degree hinge system and the possibility of different modes of use, including laptop and tablet. It is compatible with the Samsung S-Pen stylus working on the Super Panel multi-touch screen 13.3 inch AMOLED, native FHD resolution, HDR support and a high level of brightness (500 nits) to handle any lighting conditions. Its premium chassis looks great and the convertible is as light (1.04kg) as it is thin (11.5mm).

The big innovation compared to the current model is its processor. For the 2023 model, Samsung went with the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chipset. It’s the fastest Qualcomm has for a PC, but we’ll have to wait. We’ll see if it compares to Intel or AMD x86 processors. The chipmaker says it should be fast enough to close the gap by offering 85% better CPU and 60% better graphics performance than the previous version.

It also remains to be seen how the preinstalled Windows 11 operating system works, because on other laptops that use the same SoC (like the Lenovo ThinkPad X13s), Windows applications that are not optimized to run natively on ARM. they are terribly slow. It’s a pain point that Microsoft and its partners need to fix if they want to take on Apple on the ARM platform.

If there is any doubt about the performance, in connectivity it has to be said that this Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 is excellent with native network support. 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Another of its advantages will be autonomy. Samsung estimates a video playback capacity of 35 hours. In the real world it will be a little less, but sure we can’t think of another laptop with this battery life.
