TSMC, the world’s largest Taiwanese semiconductor company, has begun mass production of advanced chips at a facility in southern Taiwan.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by NHK.
A ceremony was held in Tainan to mark the start of mass production of 3-nanometer chips. At the same time, the company announced plans to increase its production capacity.
TSMC is also establishing a facility in Arizona, USA. Earlier this month, company officials said that another facility will be built later on to manufacture chips using 3-nanometer technology.
TSMC CEO Mark Liu said the company is making efforts to set up more advanced 2-nanometer chip factories at two other facilities in Taiwan.
As reported by Ukrinform, TSMC, the world’s largest independent semiconductor manufacturing company based in Taiwan, is negotiating to set up its first facility in Europe in Dresden, Germany.
