Samsung France has announced the launch of the Galaxy Book2 Go, the second version of its entry-level notebook ARM SoC, Windows OS and cheap price.
Last week Samsung introduced the convertible Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 as the top of its range with ARM, and now it is expanding the platform with another model also based on the same architecture, but with a different target group. Yes, that’s clear Samsung will try to place in ARM this year looking to the success that Apple has had with its new Macs. As we said in the presentation of the convertible computer, we will see if the software section allows it, because the Windows-ARM pairing has been a bad marriage for ten years due to the lack of support for classic Windows applications.

Aside from the software, the laptop we’re talking about might be interesting. Samsung doesn’t have a catalog of major PC manufacturers, but the PCs it sells are very well built. The new version keeps the screen size in 14 inchesbut before the previous TN panel is now mounted and IPS higher quality with native FHD resolution.
Another novelty comes in its internal hardware, with the SoC Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 which Qualcomm claims delivers up to 30% faster single-core performance; speed in multithreading up to 60% higher and graphics improvement up to 70%. Here we reiterate Windows and its lack of ability to run applications that are not natively programmed for ARM.
That being said, this laptop stands out great autonomy (up to 21 hours depending on the manufacturer) and its connectivity, with Wi-Fi 6E, mobile broadband support and a design that allows collaboration with other Samsung Galaxy devices, including smartphones and tablets. For example, a user can use the Galaxy Tab as a second screen, automatically pair a set of wireless Galaxy Buds, or sync notes between their devices using the Samsung Notes app.
The Galaxy Book2 Go weighs 1.44 kg and is 15.5 mm thick and is MIL-STD-810G certified, which means it is resistant to drops, extreme temperatures, moisture, shocks and vibrations. Its hinge can be bent up to 180 degrees for easy handling, and it has a good-sized trackpad and webcam.
Memory and storage capacity were not specified, but it should offer better performance than the original model, as the RAM is LPDDR4X at 3200 MHz and the storage is an NVMe SSD. With Windows 11 Home pre-installed, the Galaxy Book 2 Go will be available for purchase in France via Samsung.com from January 20, 2023. We don’t know the price, but if you keep $349 original (Wi-Fi version) can be a very good choice. We also expect a 5G version that should arrive later.
