LG announced on Tuesday (3) new models of its OLED TV lineup, retaining last year’s nomenclature and anticipating devices to be unveiled at CES 2023, the technology fair taking place in Las Vegas this week.
The main highlight of this generation is the improved brightness. LG promises up to 70% more brightness than other OLED displays on the market. Improvements in image processing will also be present in the A3, B3, C3, G3 and Z3 models that make up the new lineup. Sizes range from 42 inches (on the C3) to 97 inches (on the G3).
New OLEDs will have an improved processor
A good part of the improvements present in this line is due to the new a9 Gen 6 processor. It is responsible for the artificial intelligence technologies present in LG TVs a few years ago, and the company promises to get even better with this release.
The AI Picture Pro feature, for example, scales images so that they are always displayed in high quality. The AI Sound Pro feature promises to provide virtual 9.1.2 surround sound using only the device’s internal speakers, but this can be improved with the company’s built-in soundbar.
According to LG, the 2023 models will have image processing optimized with the company’s best AI technology. These new algorithms are also responsible for the higher brightness promised by the South Korean company.

The TV interface will also undergo changes
The company also promised changes to webOS, the operating system used by LG’s TV lineup. The interface will be redesigned to make it more user-friendly and retain existing customization options.
Another new addition to this generation is what LG calls One Wall Design, designed for those who usually hang their TV on a wall bracket. They promise with him that there will be no visible gap between the device and the wall to which it will be attached.
While LG has yet to reveal many details about the optimization for gaming, the new line is expected to remain a high-end option for gamers. The panels in this lineup offer a 0.1ms response time, low latency, and will be compatible with NVidia’s G-SYNC and AMD’s FreeSync.
Continuation after commercial
LG should announce more news by the end of the week when the TVs are shown to the CES 2023 audience, giving a sample of the real impact of these new changes.
