The Odyssey OLED G9 is another high-end monitor that Samsung Display brought to CES 2023. And it’s almost as impressive as the Odyssey Neo G9 (2023) we introduced you to yesterday.
The star of the show is the panel OLED quantum dot. Curved in a radius of 1800R, it offers a massive 49-inch diagonal with a native resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels in an ultra-wide aspect ratio of 32:9.
In this type of OLED screen, each pixel is illuminated independently without depending on the backlight, which enables a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 while offering RGB and true black without color filters and with the excellent image quality typical of OLED. Monitor supports HDR True Black 400 display. These VESA “True Black” versions allow for black levels up to 100 times deeper than typical HDR, plus greater dynamic range.
Focusing on games (although it can be used for any type of task), we see support for AMD FreeSync Premium image synchronization technology, and we assume that it will also be compatible with NVIDIA’s G-Sync. Frequency of updates 240 Hz With its resolution and absolutely minimum response time of 0.1 milliseconds, it is the highest on the market.
It has mini Display Port inputs (it is not indicated if this is the new version 2.1), in addition HDMI 2.1 and a USB hub port with charging of peripherals via USB Type-C up to 65 watts.
The monitor can also be used on work independently without the need to connect to a PC. With an internet connection and thanks to the Samsung Smart Hub service, you can enjoy multimedia content from services such as Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube. It also supports Samsung’s gaming service, Gaming Hub, an all-in-one streaming platform that allows gamers to play games from Xbox or NVIDIA GeForce Now.
Another spectacular Samsung monitor with no price or availability listed. If you’re interested, go save because it won’t be cheap.
