Intel announced the launch of the new 13th generation Core processors for desktop computers, completing the Raptor Lake-S platform released last September. If this was the top of the K series with an unlocked multiplier, the company is now focusing on adding 65 and 35 watt models to the range and focusing on heavy consumption.
Raptor Lake for notebooks was the biggest announcement Intel brought to CES 2023, and we immediately saw a huge amount of new gear under the platform from all of its hardware partners. But it wasn’t the only one, and yesterday we also saw new N-series processors for powering basic and cheap computers. The third important group of products is the group that we will review in this post.
Completion of Intel Core 13 Gen
Intel launched the first new-generation desktop processors in September, starting with the top-of-the-line ‘K’ series with unlocked multipliers and massive performance. But it is clear that not all users need so many models Non-K Although they can also be used for games and content creation, they have a lower consumption and price.
Intel promises future and backward compatibility of these processors with 600 and 700 series motherboardsas well as memory compatibility DDR5 and DDR4. In addition, there are models with different consumption (65 and 35 watts), as well as versions with and without integrated graphics. The intention is to increase the flexibility of using the platform and complement the top of the range already on the market. Of course, they feature the latest Intel technologies and use a hybrid architecture that mixes high-performance “P” cores with so-called efficient “E” cores for less demanding tasks.

Despite not having an unlocked multiplier, they are not without power. And we see a sample in the fastest one presented, v Core i9-13900 with 24 cores (including 8 high performance) and 32 native processor threads and frequencies that reach up to 5.6 GHz. It has integrated Intel UHD 770 graphics, while memory support includes DDR4 at 3200 and DDR5 up to 5600 MHz with a capacity of up to 128 GB.
Intel increased the L2 cache to 2 MB per P core and 4 MB per cluster with the E core for the L3 cache, which totals 36 MB on this model. You can view all models and features in the following table. State that variants ‘F’ are the ones that don’t include integrated graphics.

Intel produced another half dozen variants designated as “T”are ones that reduce power consumption to TDP only 35 watts. They reduce some of the benefits over the previous equivalents, but will be useful in equipment that tries to reduce consumption.

Intel is launching the new Intel Core 13th Gen (Non-K) under these brands Core i9, Core i7 and Core i5. If you’re wondering where the Core i3s are, you should know that they were reserved for the entry-level N series that replaced the earlier Pentiums and Celerons. Finally, say that Intel will include a stock 65W Alder Lake-like fan with the retail purchase of these processors to complement the Raptor Lake desktop platform.
