GIGABYTE Introduces B760 Motherboards for Intel Raptor Lake

GIGABYTE, one of the leading high-performance and gaming hardware and component companies, has announced its latest lineup of B760 chipset motherboards, targeting Intel’s Raptor Lake generation processors. This line of products features an improved XMP and hardware memory design to squeeze out DDR5 and offer performance similar to what can be obtained with the Z790 chipset with DDR5 7600Hz memory, or so the brand says.

GIGABYTE’s new series of B760 chipset motherboards feature a VRM that delivers up to 60 amps of digital power with a full coverage cooler. This combination allows the products to support the correct operation of Intel Raptor Lake (13th) generation processors.

As for the connection, this point depends on the model, PCIe technology and slots M.2-Latch They are in charge of simplifying the updating of components such as graphics, dedicated sound cards (although they have been little used in the home sector for years) and storage units in SSD format. This is in addition to features that may or may not be there depending on the model, such as Ethernet 2.5 Gb/s, Wi-Fi 6E, USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C with data transfer rates up to 20 Gb/s up to three sets of shielded PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots on select models.

M.2 EZ-Latch Plus technology replaces existing M.2 SSD screws with self-locking latches, reducing screw deflection or loss and greatly simplifying M.2 SSD installation.

With the latest PerfDrive technology and the GIGABYTE Control Center (GCC) software platform, the company provides the B760 platform with optimal hardware, software and firmware that cover DDR4 and DDR5 memory via ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX board formats.

When we mention some aspects of specific models, GIGABYTE B760 AORUS motherboard uses 16+1+1 phase digital power system with 60 amp DrMOS design, while B760 AORUS ELITE implements 12+1+1 phase and B760M AORUS PRO 14+1+1. The thermal design of the MASTER, PRO, ELITE and GAMING X series is made to improve stability and keep temperatures in check.

GIGABYTE motherboard with B760 chipset

In addition to supporting DDR5, GIGABYTE will also make available motherboard models with the B760 chipset capable of supporting DDR4. This opens the door for the user to not have to buy everything new if they see that the profit that DDR5 brings them is not worth it and prefer to reuse the DDR4 modules they already have.

GIGABYTE motherboard models with the B760 chipset and DDR5 support are implemented with six low-loss server-grade PCBs providing next-generation memory routing. DDR5 memory design footprint width and length are optimized by High Performance Computing (HPC) simulation and shielded from external interference under the inner PCB layer, resulting in better memory performance and overclocking. This is in addition to more A low-latency, high-bandwidth BIOS setting that provides optimal memory performance in XMP and EXPO. This GIGABYTE exclusive design allows the B760 platform to reach speeds similar to DDR5-7600 memory with XMP on the Z790 chipset.

It’s important to note that the Intel Z series of chipsets are the only ones that officially allow this overclocking processor and memory. However, the hardware has offered more than enough performance by default for years, so the B760 chipset can be an excellent choice for those who just want to build and use their components without having to deal with complex configurations. On the other hand, overclocking it’s something you’d better not do unless you’re clear about what you’re doing.

To ensure RAM module compatibility, GIGABYTE has worked closely with manufacturers and vendors such as ADATA, AORUS, Apacer, CORSAIR, CRUCIAL, G.SKILL, GEIL, GLOWAY, Kimtigo, KINGMAX, Kingston, Kingston FURY, KLEVV, Lexar, Micron, Neo Forza, OCPC, OLOY, PATRIOT, PNY, Samsung, Team Group, Thermaltake, Transcend and V-color.

With motherboards that implement the B760 chipset, GIGABYTE intends to expand its product catalog to cover a wider range of user profiles while maintaining its quality standards.
