The smart Apple HomePod speaker may get a major new feature of the next-gen model, and reports suggest that information about it is starting to appear on the internet. According to the latest news, Cupertino’s tech giant is working on an updated smart speaker HomePod that will act as a smart display with a built-in camera.
It is also claimed that the new generation HomePod with Face ID can run on its own tvOS company. The report adds that Apple plans to add a built-in camera to the speaker to manage FaceTime conversations.
As a smart speaker with a screen and a camera, the new generation model can compete with devices such as the Google Nest Hub Max and Amazon Echo Show, which are smart speakers with a screen, camera and voice assistant.
Although there are reports of this new HomePod with tvOS-based Face ID, little information is available at the moment. Even the launch date of such a product is unknown. As such, it’s unlikely to be presented at WWDC this year, but the company may present such a product to WWDC or reveal additional information about it. Source
