The Intelligent Notification System (AIS), the first of its kind in Turkey, was this year the first project to be proposed globally within the DIAL (Digital Impact Association) study conducted by the United Nations Foundation.

IZMIR (IGFA) – Smart city projects of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continue to attract attention in the world. The Intelligent Notification System (AIS), prepared by the metropolitan municipality and the first in its field in Turkey, was the first project presented worldwide this year within the framework of the DIAL (Digital Impact Association) study conducted by the United Nations Foundation. Artificial Intelligence Supported Intelligent Notification System was introduced to the world as an example with the title “Use of Digital Algorithms in Public Services”. This year Serbia is also included in the report, including Izmir and Turkey.

First place as successful application

The DIAL project is preparing the report ‘Software Algorithms and Public Services’ to highlight the use of software algorithms in public institutions. The Intelligent Notification System (AIS) prepared by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality was ranked first as a successful application in this report. It aims to disseminate digital policies and practices

The DIAL project was created to explore digital transformation efforts around the world and ensure that exemplary projects are disseminated around the world. The project aims to increase credible and inclusive digital policies and practices. The UN Foundation is carrying out this project in collaboration with the Bill-Melinda Gates Foundation, the Swedish Office for International Development Cooperation, UK Aid and the German Office for International Cooperation.

What is the Intelligent Notification System (AIS)?

Thanks to the Intelligent Warning System of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the first in its field in Turkey, fires can be fought in the early stages. Thanks to the image processing technology that works with a total of 72 cameras in 18 towers, 62 percent of the forest areas are kept under control.
The Smart Warning System transmits the location and coordinates of the received smoke image to firefighters and commanders.
AİS started working actively in April 2022. The system was developed with the own resources of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. AİS stands out as an end-to-end solution-oriented project, both in terms of hardware and software.
