Mark Gurman said that Apple is not planning any major updates to its iPad, AirPods, Apple TV or Apple Watch product lines for 2023. Bloomberg’s The latest Power On newsletter. Apple is expected to announce its AR/VR headset this spring, and its imminent launch seems to have diverted attention from other products in Apple’s portfolio. According to Gurman, no major “iPad” updates are expected this year, and the next major update will arrive in the first half of 2024 with 11-inch and 13-inch “iPad” Pro OLEDs. Gürman says that Apple may reveal minor specs for the entry-level iPad, iPad mini, and iPad Air.
As for the AirPods lineup, Gurman says he doesn’t expect any “major” updates this year that could rule out the possibility of an updated version of the AirPods Max coming out. The AirPods Max are the oldest in Apple’s AirPods lineup, and a lighter, more affordable version is said to be in the works.
Regarding the Apple Watch, Gürman says he doesn’t expect any major hardware changes this year, apart from some minor performance improvements in Apple Watch models. Apple announced the all-new Apple Watch Ultra in September, so expect minor updates on this as well as other models in the lineup. Gürman says that Apple does not plan to release a new Apple TV in 2023.
