On Monday morning, China successfully launched three new satellites into space, designed to conduct scientific experiments in orbit and test new technologies.
Referring to Xinhua, Ukrinform reported that the launch took place from the Wenchang Cosmodrome on Hainan Island.
The Shijian-23, Shiyan-22A and Shiyan-22B satellites were launched using a modified version of the Long March-7 (“Changzheng-7”) launch vehicle.
As noted, they successfully entered planned orbits.
“The Shijian-23 satellite is mainly used for scientific experiments and technical verification, while the Shiyan-22A and Shiyan-22B are designed for in-orbit testing of new technologies such as space environment monitoring,” the statement said.
Xinhua explains that this launch is the 459th for Changzheng series launch vehicles.
