Members of hacker forums have started using the ChatGPT chatbot to generate phishing emails and malware. This was reported by the Ars Technica portal with reference to a report by Check Point Research.
Separately, it is noted that some users who use neural networks to create viruses do not even have programming experience.
One example shows how ChatGPT writes a script in Python that can act as ransomware when refined. With the help of such software, attackers can encrypt data on the victim’s computer.
Check Point Research researchers tried to use ChatGPT for experimental purposes, as a result of which the neural network generated a “convincing phishing email” in which the potential victim was informed that the account was blocked. The user is then prompted to open an attachment that contains an embedded VBA macro, also created by artificial intelligence.
