The American company Microsoft will end support for the Windows 8.1 operating system on January 10.

This was reported by Ukrinform with a link to the company’s blog.

The message reads, “On January 10, 2023, support for Windows 8.1 will end and technical support and software updates will no longer be available after this date.”

The company recommends that devices running Windows 8.1 be upgraded to a more current and supported version of Windows.

The company added that if the device does not meet the technical requirements to run the current version of Windows, it is recommended to replace it with a device that supports Windows 11.

“Microsoft will not offer an Extended Security Update (ESU) program for Windows 8.1. Continued use of Windows 8.1 after January 10, 2023 may increase an organization’s exposure to security risks or affect its ability to meet compliance obligations,” the statement said.

As reported, Microsoft and HP delivered nearly three thousand laptops to Ukrainian teachers.
