Apple is preparing to announce its first self-developed mixed reality headset in the spring of 2023. This was expressed by Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman.
The expected name of the new device is Reality Pro. According to Gürman, details about the AR headset’s features will be revealed at Apple’s annual WWDC developer conference in June, following the spring announcement. The official launch of the device will take place in the fall.
Apple’s new gadget is reportedly starting to be tested by several software developers. Gürman says that the operating system of the headset will be called xrOS.
It is also reported that the launch of the new device has forced Apple to mobilize several software and hardware development departments at once, so we don’t have to wait for other breakthrough technologies from the company in 2023.
