LG completed the last webOS update in 2021 and introduced affiliate advertising and user recommendations in navigation. Now, LG’s new OLED and LCD TVs will receive an operating system update. with a focus on simplifying navigation and improving user experience.
webOS will present quick cards tool (Fast Cards, loosely translated), providing quick access to the user’s favorite content. Ads and recommendations will remain in the new webOS, which is sure to frustrate some, but the new design promises an easier browsing experience. LG confirmed that there are no plans to port the new webOS to previous generations of LG TVs.. Still LG said Matter support will also be coming to TVs launching in 2022., such as LG OLED evo G2, LG OLED evo C2 and QNED MiniLED. It remains to be seen if the company plans to include Matter support in older models, but it looks like the company is focusing on new releases.
