LEDA 48062 is the amorphous galaxy on the right of the image next to its more prominent neighbor on the left, the large disk galaxy UGC 8603.

Also in this image are a few more distant galaxies and a few stars in the background of LEDA 48062.

It is stated that LEDA 48062 is located 30 million light-years from the Milky Way.

Perseus is an ancient constellation of the northern hemisphere of the sky. In the 2nd century, the starry sky was included in the Almagest catalog of the ancient Greek astronomer Claudius Ptolemy.
