GeForce RTX 4070 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will be two high-end and mid-high-end graphics cards, respectively, which NVIDIA plans to launch between the first and second quarter of this year. Both will use the AD104 graphics chip, the same silicon we saw in the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, a graphics card we recently had the chance to review, and it’s so powerful that it can beat the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in some cases. .
There were earlier rumors that NVIDIA might be using the AD106 chip in the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, but given that the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti used the GA104 chip, that information didn’t make much sense. The AD106 graphics core will be reserved for the GeForce RTX 4060and NVIDIA may decide to use it in the hypothetical GeForce RTX 4050 Ti as well.
We know that the AD104 graphics core has in its full configuration 7,680 shaders. That is, the variant that the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti mounts, and therefore it is clear that the version used in the GeForce RTX 4070 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will have a lower configuration. Still nothing definitive, but thanks to information that has surfaced recently I can extrapolate an estimate of the specs quite reliable.
Possible specifications of GeForce RTX 4070
- Graphics core AD104 in 5nm.
- 5,888 shaders at 2.3-2.6 GHz.
- 184 texturing units.
- 184 tensor kernels of the fourth generation.
- 46 cores of the third generation RT.
- 64 raster units.
- 36 MB L2 cache.
- 192-bit memory bus.
- 12 GB GDDR6X at 21 Gbps.
- 200-250W TGP.
- You will need two additional 8-pin power connectors.
Your performance should be between GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090although thanks to the support of DLSS 3 technology, it will be able to beat both of them by a large margin in games that are compatible with said technology.
GeForce RTX 4070 price it will be about 600 dollars (The Ti version starts at $799.)
Possible specifications of GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
- Graphics core AD104 in 5nm.
- 4,352 shaders at 2.2-2.4 GHz.
- 128 texturing units.
- 128 tensor cores of the fourth generation.
- 32 cores 3rd generation RT.
- 64 raster units.
- 32 MB L2 cache.
- 128-bit memory bus.
- 8 GB GDDR6 at 18 Gbps.
- 200-220W TGP.
- You will need two additional 8-pin power connectors.
In this case we would have a graphics card that could perform more or less on the level of GeForce RTX 3080although as before, DLSS 3 support will ultimately make a significant difference in compatible games and allow it to be significantly surpassed.
The price of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti will almost certainly be in the $500 range.
