Google has released a standalone Key Access app for Android

Google has separated a key component of Android Accessibility Suite into a separate program and made Key Access available for individual installation from the Google Play Store. This allows Google to release updates for this component more frequently and offer Key Access features on older smartphones and tablets.

Google Key Access lets you control your Android device without using the touchscreen. It is primarily aimed at users with musculoskeletal disorders. The app requires Android 8 Oreo or newer, released in 2017, to run.

You can configure control using external devices or front camera using Switch Access. The phone will be able to respond to facial expressions such as a user’s smile or opening his mouth, along with built-in volume keys, keyboards and controllers connected via USB or Bluetooth.
