The Legend of Zelda was one of the most important games which received the classic NES from Nintendo and soon became one of the key franchises of the Japanese company. His success was so great that he always played a vital role in the consoles of the big N generation after generation.
Time doesn’t pass in vain, and it’s clear that The Legend of Zelda has aged so much that its graphics not easily digestible these daysespecially for those who were born in the 3D generation and didn’t have the chance to enjoy a time when all we lacked were a handful of pixels and our imaginations.
However, the simplicity of its development, its playability and aesthetics continue to lend it a unique touch that has a special charm, which is enhanced when it is transferred to virtual reality. This version was made possible thanks to QuestZDoom graphics enginecompatible with Oculus Quest VR virtual reality sets.
The attention to detail and fidelity This virtual reality version of Zelda is so good that it will bring you to an irrepressible high of nostalgia, although it is true that there are details that could be improved. Nothing particularly serious, especially considering that this is a demo and not a full adaptation of the original game.
deserves a special mention the presence of the original soundtrackand also sound effects. I don’t think this project will make it to full release, especially since we already know how jealous Nintendo is about its intellectual property.
But this demo of the original Zelda in virtual reality is interesting because it shows that there are classics that could have a second life thanks to such technology and that they would not need a deep technical renovation to be attractive and interesting. Still, I think it’s interesting to end with the question of which classic game would you like to see adapted for virtual reality? In my case, I would like to see it adaptation of Silent Hill 2and the truth is, I think it would fit perfectly.
