GeForce Now kicks off the year with a bang

2023 promises to be a big year for GeForce Now, NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service. It will be a year of full deployment of the RTX 40 series, both for desktops and laptops, so the hardware will make many interesting headlines, but the company’s cloud platform does not want to be left behind, as we could already see in the presentation it made during CES 2023, and all indications are that he will achieve it.

The big announcement is undoubtedly the new Ultimate GeForce Now tier. Previously known as GeForce Now RTX 3080, it now has to leave this name behind, as the service’s servers, known as Superpods, have updated their components to integrate the latest generation graphics adapters with the Ada Lovelace architecture. Subscribers at this level will thus be able to play in similar conditions as they would have on their own PC with the all-new GeForce RTX 4080. In terms of general computing capabilities, the Superpods are equipped with AMD Threadripper processors and thanks to its very high-speed connectivity and very low latency will an experience similar to playing locally, as we already told you when we tested the GeForce Now RTX 3080.

The generational jump of the top-end GeForce Now account means that its users will be able to enjoy not only all the performance that the RTX 4080 provides, but also the features of this new generation that we have already talked about. when it was launched, and among which stands out the new version of its artificial intelligence-based image resizing technology, DLSS 3. NVIDIA’s relationship with artificial intelligence goes back a long way, and from time to time it surprises us with very interesting things about it.

New Games on GeForce Now: January

Now even the best components are useless if we have nothing to use them with. As you already know, GeForce Now offers you to play in the cloud the games you have acquired from the main digital game stores (Steam, Epic Games Store, etc.) so that you always own them and you can choose between playing in the cloud or locally.

So a critical factor in the service’s success is directly related to NVIDIA’s policy of constantly adding new games. As we have shown you for a long time, GFN Thursday is celebrated every Thursday, GeForce Now Thursday, which is the day of the week when the company adds new titles to the list of compatible games.

The following five games are added today, Thursday, January 12:

  • Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition (New on Steam, 5/1)
  • Carrier Command 2 (Steam)
  • Hospital project (Steam)
  • Portal with RTX (Steam)
  • cut steel (Epic Games Store)

But we have to add another 19 to them, which will be added throughout the month, every Thursday of the month. They are the following:

  • the farlanders (New on Steam, 1/17)
  • Occupy Mars: The Game (New on Steam, 1/19)

  • The Cygnus Company (Steam)
  • Destroy all people (Steam and Epic Games Store)
  • Destroy all people! 2 – Rebuked (Steam and Epic Games Store)
  • Dwarven fortress (Steam)
  • Eternal cylinder (Steam)

  • Immortals Fenyx Rising (Steam)
  • MX vs. ATV Legends (Steam)
  • NEBULOUS: Fleet Command (Steam)
  • Rain world (Steam)
  • Valiant (Steam and Epic Games Store)
  • The path of the hunter (Steam and Epic Games Store).

Completion like this a total of 24 new games were added during this month of January.

Also, if you looked closely at the list, you’ll notice that a large portion of the games scheduled for this month are part of THQ’s Nordic catalog. The Valiant, MX vs ATV Legends, Way of the Hunter and the great and great Destroy All Humans! and destroy all people! 2 represents a huge quantum leap in terms of the presence of TQH titles in GeForce Now. Personally, I’m already counting the days until I can play Destroy All Humans again! and its continuation.
