Microsoft has confirmed the end of support for Windows 7 and has finally canceled the latest updates available for the operating system. Although the Redmond giant will not continue to receive palliative care with security updates like the previous version, it has announced that its successor, 8.1, is also out.

Those still stuck with Windows 7 may have to say goodbye as Microsoft has announced the end of its 10-year system maintenance program. The release of the newer version 10 has caused outrage among those who cannot (or perhaps simply do not want) to update one of the most popular versions of the operating system from the Redmond giant.

With all this, Microsoft announced the end of the Windows 7 Extended Security Update (ESU) program, where it continues to receive relevant patches even without feature updates. But Windows 8.1 was not so lucky, in January 2023 the release of new versions was completely stopped.

Predictably, Microsoft advises users affected by this horribly full EOL to upgrade to Windows 11 whenever possible, and if not, buy a new computer that can or already has one. Original equipment manufacturer claims complete recovery Safety Compared to version 8.1, especially since it will no longer be officially maintained at all. Additionally, Windows 10 is scheduled to be supported until October 14, 2025.
