Hogwarts Legacy is presented as an open-world role-playing game. Its development was the same as that of a cross-generational title, which means it will be available for PS4, P5, Xbox One, Xbox Series XS, Nintendo Switch and PC. Like many other cross-generational titles, it will use a graphics engine Unreal Engine 4.
The mentioned graphics engine has become one of the most important in this transitional phase that, as many of our readers know, we are facing since the launch of PS5 and Xbox Series SX in 2020. It offers a number of advantages and facilitates this type of development designed for different generations, but it is a graphic engine which needs deep optimization so as not to cause problems.
When I saw the requirements of Hogwarts Legacy, I think that this title may not be well optimized because such requirements are quite highas we will see below.
It will be playable with this configuration 720p with low quality and 30 stable FPS. The correct equivalent of the Core i5-6600 would be the Ryzen 3 1300X, and the GeForce GTX 960 is equivalent to the Radeon R9 285.
If we have this configuration, we can play it 1080p with high quality and 60 FPS. Equivalences are generally fine.
We will be able to play with this equipment 1440p with maximum quality and maintaining 60 FPS. There is a graphics card mismatch because the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is closest to the Radeon RX 6700 XT.
This level of hardware will allow us to keep playing 4K with maximum quality and maintaining 60 FPS. There is no fundamental error in the equivalences.
Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to launch on 10th of February and will be compatible with NVIDIA DLSS 3 technology.
