Smartphone owners can use their device to find a hidden camera at home, including infrared (IR), which is invisible to the human eye. This was reported by The Verge journalists.

It is recorded that the infrared camera works according to the movement of people and takes pictures in dim rooms. The smartphone camera will be able to “see” the infrared ray. Owners should first check if the smartphone detects IR signals using the TV remote.

You need to point the camera when turning on the remote control. A steady or flashing light source must be visually visible. According to journalists, most often this method only works with front cameras, but on some devices, such as the Pixel 6, the main camera “sees” IR signals.

Users were also advised to check if there are any extra things connected to the local network from the devices. There are several similar applications. Journalists recommended Fing, which is available for both Android and iOS. The program will find and compile a list of all devices on the network.
