OUR Samsung revealed his new PM9C1a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD high performance and energy efficiency. This new model should be widely used in compact devices such as laptops and has the speed read and write faster than 5000MB/s.

New SSD from Samsung for laptops

The new South Korean storage model is perfect for both everyday use and more resource-intensive tasks. With PCIe 4.0 interface, it is able to provide speed 6000 MB/s sequential read and speed 5600 MB/s sequential write. Supports up to 900K read IOPS and 1,000K write IOPS.

Despite these speeds, the main highlight Samsung PM9C1a will be its energy efficiency per watt, which is 70% more than its previous model. This will allow the model to represent higher performance generating less heatmaking it ideal for use in lower thermal devices such as ultra-thin laptops.

The SSD manages to deliver this performance thanks to the manufacturer’s new 5nm controller and chips. V-NAND seventh generation company.

In addition to performance, the device also has features focused on user safety. The company notes that its model meets the safety standard Device ID Compilation Mechanism (DICE) created Trusted Computing Group (OTU). This feature securely generates cryptographic keys inside the SSD, protecting it from attacks and providing attestation against possible firmware changes.

OUR Samsung has yet to confirm pricing for its new line of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs. But PM9C1a will be available for purchase in 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB storage capacities and sizes of 22mm x 30mm, 22mm x 42mm and 22mm x 80mm.
