This week, Samsung announced a new smart air purifier, the Smart Air Purifier. The device has multi-level purification technology and promises clean air in an area of up to 60 m². The device is currently only available in Malaysia for RM1,888 (about R$2,200 in direct conversion).

According to Samsung, the multi-level cleaning system captures up to 99.97% of ultra-fine dust from the environment and reduces bacteria in the filter by up to 99.3%. 3 Way Air Flow technology is able to ventilate and purify the air, distributing clean air throughout the room. In addition, the Smart Air Purifier performs front air suction with Front Air Inflow technology and can be placed against a wall without affecting the performance of the device.

The new Samsung device can be controlled via a mobile application, which provides a more convenient user experience. Equipped with three layers of filters, Samsung’s smart air purifier promises to remove pollutants from the air. The first layer is a removable pre-filter responsible for filtering out larger dust particles. The second layer is an activated charcoal deodorant capable of removing unwanted gases. The third layer is a zinc oxide filter capable of killing 99.3% of bacteria and collecting ultra-fine dust. The purifier also has display at the top that provides information on ambient air qualityas well as a sensor capable of detecting dust particles and gaseous contaminants.

So far, Samsung hasn’t revealed if the smart air purifier will be released in markets other than Malaysia, so there’s a good chance the device will arrive some time later, or even not appear in Brazil.
