Continuing its support to the IT sector and young IT professionals, Ankara Municipality organized the gamejam event ‘city of the future’, which took place in Turkey for the first time.
ANKARA (IGFA) – Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which has signed many projects to make Ankara the capital of technology, continues to set an example for all of Turkey with the technology centers it has opened while promoting the IT sector and young IT professionals continue to support .
ABB IT Department and Bilkent Cyberpark; Aks+FutureStudio, located within AnkaraAks, organized the event UrbanJam (Uurbanism+GameJam) with the theme of the city of the future. Organized for free on January 14-15, 2023 at Ankara Technology Bridge in Dikmen. “Urban Jam” Employees in the IT sector and university students showed great interest in the event.
On the last day of the gamejam event, which was organized under the guidance of expert mentors and designers and took place for the first time in Turkey on the axis of game, architecture and urbanism, the participants had the opportunity to present the created video games to the future of the city.

Young IT professionals who participated in the event expressed their gratitude to Ankara Municipality for supporting the IT sector with the following words:
-Berkutay Coşkun (co-founder architect-AnkaraAks): “As FutureStudio, founded within AnkaraAks, we organize an UrbanJam event. The first gamejam event, both in Turkey and in Europe, bringing together the architecture and games industry… We have 40 participants and they are architects and game developers. We also think of the rest.”
–Berke Cinar (computer engineer): “We wanted to create an environment where people could develop their own ideas or games. Ankara Technology Bridge also helped us a lot with that. All kinds of options are here. We thank the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for this.”
–Osman Caputcu: “We came to Ankara Technology Bridge with our friends for the UrbanJam event. We are there and we produce within the theme of how we can carry this over the future on architecture, play and city. As someone from Istanbul, I was very happy with the opportunities we get here.”
-Mervenur Health: “We invited several speakers about games, architecture and the city and there were seminars. Our theme is cities of the future and we asked participants to develop games around this theme. It is very important for Ankara Metropolitan Municipality to support Young IT Professionals, and I would like to thank Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş for this.”
– Ayşegül Şimşek: “My architect, I attended the UrbanJam event to see what we can do differently from the market, what we can produce. It is very important that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality gives us an incentive here, it is very important that it gives opportunities to young IT professionals.”
