There is just over a month left until the expected launch of PlayStation VR2, the new virtual reality platform designed by Sony for its console. The exact date of its launch, as announced at the beginning of November, will be next February 22nd, and as we told you some time ago, this will mark a significant technological leap compared to the company’s current VR viewer. that it can be measured both by performance and by the number of supported functions.

Recall, for example, that the PlayStation VR2 will have eye movement recognition technology, thanks to a connection with Tobii, a company specialized in this type of function. We will have to wait for the specific uses that various developers put to this technology, but just imagining its potential in horror and suspense games literally and figuratively gives you goosebumps.

Now that we are talking about developers, one of the main concerns of all PlayStation 5 users who are thinking of getting a PlayStation VR2 comes to mind. I mean, of course, that the viewer will not be compatible with first-generation games, i.e. PlayStation VR games. Anyone who wants to enjoy the news from Sony in this sense will have to go through the box in addition to the viewer to get one or two games (if they don’t already have them, of course).

In this regard, the main question that accompanied users was exactly what games will be compatible with the PlayStation VR2? It is true that the Japanese technology company has advanced with some title that would be available on the day of the viewer’s launch, but now, with the addition of 13 new titles, the company has published a list in which we can see The first 36 games are coming to PlayStation VR2. As we can read in that entry, they will be available from February 22, which we can translate as “between the end of February and March”. They are the following:

  • After the Fall (Vertigo Games)
  • Altair Breaker (Thirdverse)
  • Before Your Eyes (Skybound Interactive, date approx.)
  • Cities VR (Fast Travel Games)
  • Cosmonal Peak (Owlchemy)
  • Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition (Survios, date approx.)
  • The Dark Pictures: Switchback (Super Massive, Approximate Date)
  • Demo (games with resolution)
  • Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate (MyDearest Inc., Perp Games)
  • Fantavision 202X (Cosmo Machia, Inc.)
  • Gran Turismo 7 (via free upgrade to PS5 version of GT7)
  • Horizon Call of the Mountain (Firesprite, Guerrilla)
  • Vacation Simulator (Owlchemy)
  • Jurassic World Consequences (Coatsink)
  • VR Kayaking: Mirage
  • Kizuna AI – Touch the Beat! (Gemdrops, Inc.)
  • The Last Clockwinder (Pontoco/Cyan Worlds)
  • The Light Brigade (Funktronic Labs, includes PS VR and PS VR2 versions)
  • Moss 1 & 2 Remastered (Polyarc)
  • NFL Pro Era (StatusPro, Inc., Free Update for PS VR2)
  • No Man’s Sky (Hello Games, date approx.)
  • Pavlov VR (Bankrupt)
  • Pistol Whip (Cloudhead, free upgrade)
  • Mysterious Places (Realities.io, free update)
  • Resident Evil Village (Capcom, via free upgrade to RE Village PS5 version)
  • Rez Infinite (upgrade)
  • Song in the Smoke (17-bit)
  • STAR WARS: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge (ILMxLab)
  • Synth Riders: Remastered Edition (Kluge Interactive, Free Update)
  • The Story of Onogora (Amata KK)
  • Tentacle (Return)
  • Tetris Effect: Connected (Enhance)
  • The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners: Ch. 2: Retribution (Skydance, date approx.)
  • Vacation Simulator (Owlchemy)
  • What the Bat (Triband)
  • Zenith: The Last City (Ramen VR, Free Update)

The list is undoubtedly the most diverse, which should be appreciated. It’s true that many people will miss a particular title (one of Spider-Man’s adventures, for example), but personally, and while I don’t have a PS5 and don’t plan on getting a PlayStation VR2, an experience like the one Horizon Call of the Mountain promises to deliver (exclusive development for this platform), Jurassic World Aftermath, Gran Turismo 7 or the unique No Man’s Sky, the temptation will not disappear for a moment.
