Specifications and possible performance of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050

The GeForce RTX 4050 will be a mid-range graphics card that will hit the market as a “Economical” option within the next generation of NVIDIA, in quotes because its retail price has yet to be confirmed and because it could be more expensive than the GeForce RTX 3050 at launch.

In previous leaks, we saw that the specifications of the GeForce RTX 4050 could be very similar to the GeForce RTX 3060, but the new round of rumors completely changed them and points to a much more modest setupand others in the spirit of what we recently saw with the launch of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.

I put this in context because it’s obvious that if the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti hit the market with 7680 shaders it doesn’t make sense to think that the GeForce RTX 4050 will have 3,840 shaders, as it is too high a value that leaves little room for GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. The possible specs of the GeForce RTX 4050 were such that after using the keys, these new rumors left us:

  • AD106 graphics core in 5nm from TSMC.
  • 2,560 shaders.
  • GPU at 2505MHz-2640MHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 80 texturing units.
  • 80 tensor cores.
  • 32 raster units.
  • 20 RT cores.
  • 128-bit bus.
  • 8 GB of 18 GHz GDDR6 graphics memory (288 GB/s bandwidth).
  • 13.51 TFLOPs of performance in FP32.
  • TGP: 150 watts. You will need an 8 pin power connector.

Possible performance and release date of GeForce RTX 4050

If these specs are finally confirmed, the GeForce RTX 4050 will most likely offer performance similar to GeForce RTX 3060although in comparison it will have two important advantages, lower consumption and support for frame generation within DLSS 3, the latest technology that can significantly improve performance in games, as it creates an additional CPU-independent frame for every two traditionally generated frames.

Typically NVIDIA XX50 series models They usually come last.and we don’t think that will change with the GeForce RTX 4050. With that in mind, and given that the GeForce RTX 4070, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, and GeForce RTX 4060 haven’t been released yet, I think it’s likely that they won’t arrive until the second mid 2023. The price is still up in the air, but I’d bet between 300 and 400 euros.
