CNN+ debuted at the end of March and received an investment of about 300 million US dollars (approximately 1.4 billion reais). And this will not stop there – additional cash injections were planned for the project. The reason for the closure, according to company management, was strategic.

“We have made the decision to end CNN+ operations and focus our investments on core news gathering operations and building CNN Digital. This decision was of poor quality,” he commented.
