Microsoft PC Manager is a free tool developed by the software giant that is used to it clean, speed up and check for issues on your windows computeraffecting cache and storage, monitoring resource usage, or scanning the system for security or other problems.

“PC cleaners” are a group of maintenance applications that became almost essential in Windows decades ago. Nowadays, with the high level of hardware and the best optimization of systems, its usefulness is more questionableespecially those that touch advanced components on which the entire operation of the computer depends, such as the Windows registry.

The application in question comes directly from Microsoft, which should be a plus in terms of reliability and therefore we recommend testing it. Originally aimed at the Chinese market (in fact, the first version was only available in the Asian giant’s Microsoft Store), it is now downloadable from a dedicated website and has expanded some of its features. We’ve tested it on several computers and it works great, even though it’s still in public beta.

How to use Microsoft PC Manager

The tool stands out with a very simple interface, in Chinese or English, languages that Microsoft will surely expand with the release of a stable version. In any case, it is intuitive and very easy for everyone. It must be said that all its functions are accessible separately in the Windows tools themselves, although here they are collected in a single application, more direct and accessible.

It is compatible with Windows 10 operating systems (version 1809 or higher) and also with all builds of Windows 11. Its installation is very simple:

  • We go to its website, download and run the “MSPCManagerSetup.exe” file.
  • We accept the license agreement and install.

After launching the application, you will see a simple interface with two groups of functions, “cleanliness” and “safety”, while in the settings section you can define whether you want the application to start at system startup and update automatically. Also if you want to update it manually.

The most direct function is the «Strengthen“, as it frees up RAM and removes temporary files from your computer. A good, albeit temporary, solution to speed up your computer.

The app also has an option repository manager with four functions, scanning for deep cleaning; large futures; applications installed but rarely used and refer to the tool Storage Sense. All are aimed at saving disk space.

Another function is control of running processes. From there, you can terminate any of them to free up resources in a similar way to what we achieve with the task manager.

And related, though different, is a feature that allows you to manage the applications that start when Windows starts. It is a function that we can also manage in the task manager.

Finally, a security group has two self-defining roles. A “scan” that checks your computer for malware threats, and another that connects to Windows Update, checks for pending threats and offers to install them from there.

This Microsoft PC Manager works well. Its functions can already be managed using other system tools, but here they are centralized, with a very easy-to-use interface and from a trusted developer. It is not known if Microsoft will increase its capabilities for the final version or in the future.
