A beehive with automatic smart beehives developed by Ukrainian-Polish startup AmoHive will be installed in the Kyiv region.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by the SEEDS publication.

“Currently, IT smart beehives from Ukrainian-Polish production AmoHive are being installed by beekeepers all over the world. However, it is the permanently working beehive where education for children and schoolchildren will be carried out in a rather unusual and new direction – “Informatics and beekeeping”, Ukraine It will appear for the first time,” he says.

It is stated that automatic smart beehives equipped with sensors that transmit information about the inside and outside of the hive will be used to create the beehive. Such hives help scientists study bee diseases and the consequences of unsuccessful hibernation, as well as develop new foods and drugs for insects.

The management of a smart beehive differs from the management of a traditional beehive in that the beekeeper and the owner of the land where the plants pollinate are more involved and timely aware. Management becomes more efficient, the beekeeper can more accurately plan his work in the beehive, and the landlord can control the efficiency of pollination, the strength of the bee colony, and evaluate the effectiveness of the service rendered to him by the beekeepers in general. .

AmoHive plans to continue to increase the level of automation. For example, design the movable elements of the hive structure in such a way that it can change the parameters and microclimate in the hive according to commands from the server generated by artificial intelligence. Each hive will be equipped with a special sensor microchip.

The developers state that automation and microelectronics have significantly lowered the threshold of entry into beekeeping, which will make the field popular on a global scale. An automatic and artificial intelligence-controlled smart beehive can be installed in the garden of a private house. Automated smart hives from Ukrainian-Polish developers, AmoHive, have been recognized at the European Bee Award. The startup also recently won a competition held under the auspices of the UN and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create an IT beehive using extraordinary “smart” beehives.

In addition, the company signed a cooperation agreement with The World Bee Project. It is the first private initiative in the world to use artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies to monitor pollinators and biodiversity from a global perspective and find long-term solutions that benefit both nature and people.

As reported, the AmoHive startup has created a “Beehive on smartphone” app that monitors the hive’s activity (with the aid of electronic scales, temperature sensors, GPS and a solar panel that powers the electronics) and sends the information. Server. The application is used in Poland and Canada.
