Business chats are designed to simplify organization and search for messages: notifications from the bank, order confirmation from the delivery service, a special offer from the store will no longer be confused with personal chats.

According to the results of the Viber survey conducted in Ukraine in 2023, 67.7% of users stated that the new feature is a convenient way to receive messages from brands. In the app, the new feature makes it really easy to find messages from brands, stores or banks, especially when you need to remember important information that might have landed at the bottom of the conversation list in a conversation.

Nothing has changed in the program, what to do?

Business chat functionality in Viber is available to all users with version 18.0 and above. All chats started with brands will be moved to the business chats folder and new messages will go there by default.

If nothing has changed in your app, you can try to manually update the app in the app store.

The new feature also offers a number of useful opportunities to interact with messages from companies and brands. Now you can:

• pin a chat with a specific brand on top of business chats;
• move any branded chat from business chats to the main chats screen;
• Pin a message from the brand to the top of the main chat screen.

Alongside business chats, another update has been launched in Viber, a brand’s business account (profile). The app will be the company’s mini site. Users will be able to access additional information about the brand, write to the company, and receive a response if such a feature is enabled by the business.

Business accounts will be created for existing brand profiles that are already sending business messages via Viber. These profiles went through the verification process and received a “blue bird” in Viber, a plugin that helps users identify verified brands.

With business chats and business accounts on Viber, interaction with brands will become more secure. By default, all business messages from verified brands will go to the business chats folder, and private accounts trying to impersonate businesses will not be able to access this folder.
