It seems like it was yesterday, but the truth is We’ve been talking about Pixel Watch since 2018at the time the project began to leak, at the time it was claimed that the search engine had three projects open with the code names Ling, Triton and Sardine and the assumption, which ultimately did not materialize, that at least one of them would hit the market with Google Pixel 3.
The prediction did not materialize and nothing was known about it for a long time, which indicated that Google was particularly hermetic in its development or was canceled. And so we were until a little over a year ago, when not only was it confirmed that the Pixel Watch project was continuing and at that time already with this name, but we could even see leaks about what its design will be like. Again, the planned deadlines were not met, as the watch did not premiere last year, but it showed much closer, probably in 2022.
So much so that at the end of 2021 we learned through anonymous leaks, which allegedly came from Google, that the code name for Pixel Watch was Rohan, that Google really intended to bring them to market in 2022 and that the design seen in the May leak would confirmed, albeit perhaps with some minor change, in the final version of the smart watch. We could definitely start to think that his time will come this year, so we’ve been waiting for it so fardespite the fact that Google did not officially tell him.
But if Google has not officially endorsed Pixel Watch, why do we take it for granted and not as an option based on lingering rumors? Well, because as Android Central shows us and says, Pixel Watch was found in a restaurant somewhere in the United States (The one who found it wanted to keep his name and place hidden), but in return he shared several of his pictures.
The first thing we can check when we see these pictures is Pixel Watch’s design, which leaked last year, is confirmed, with a spherical body, a crown and a button next to it. Personally, when I saw it, it reminded me of a classic pocket watch (without a cover, of course, of course) with a pendant. Only one of the images shows the G screen on Google in the middle, so we don’t see how much of the screen’s total area is.

We can also see that Pixel Watch It has a port that looks magnetic, which we are aware of will be responsible for cable data connection. It could also be a charging port, but given the trend in the smart watch market to use inductive charging, this point would be much less clear. It is also possible that this connector is specific to the prototype, but not the one we find in the final version of Pixel Watch.
On the back, which is in contact with the user’s wrist, we see a rectangle with oval edges (pill design) with four small rectangles pointing to biometric sensorsso we can expect quantification functions, which we could actually take for granted, as it is a standard function of all current smart watches and it would make no sense for Pixel Watch to be left behind in this regard.
As for the strap, the pictures show us design very similar to the Apple Watch fluoroelastomer, and that other manufacturers have replicated in silicone, even though there is some element of it that seems to point to a proprietary design and is therefore exclusive to Pixel Watch. However, it is possible that when it arrives on the market, we will see more diversity in this regard, as other manufacturers have done over the years.
And when will Pixel Watch see the light? Recent changes in Google’s store design suggest this is already ready to place the clockso we can speculate that it will finally introduce itself at the next Google I / O and that its launch will take place either at that time (or shortly after), or with the next generation of Pixel smartphones, continue a little further.
