Everyone was allowed to use Starlink satellite internet in Ukraine the other day. During the telethon, Yuriy Shchyhol, head of the State Special Communications Service, spoke about the work of technology in our country.

I will say right away that there were no restrictions on the use of Starlink before. We had regulatory restrictions, but thanks to operational efforts in Ukraine, we allowed all Ukrainians to use satellite internet during martial law. The system itself was sent by Elon Musk and the US government to maintain communication between the military – this also applies to critical infrastructure – Yuri said.

Schigol added that to use Starlink you need to buy a terminal – it costs about $ 500 (14,800 UAH). With the help of a smartphone application, you can connect to the equipment, then the Internet will be available.

First of all, satellite internet is needed for many businesses that work with a wireless network. In many cities the connection is unstable – Starlink will help solve this problem. Now SpaceX is opening a representative office in Ukraine – the process has already been started, and soon they will offer a full range of services in our country, – added the head of the State Special Service.
