This week Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) announced that 78 more Brazilian cities should start receiving a signal from the new clean 5G network in the 3.5 GHz band.. Most of the small and medium municipalities exempted for early technology access are in a state of Sao Paulobut the cities Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, Per, Holy Spirit, Rio Grande do Sul, ParanĂ¡, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and bahia also appear in the list.

According to what was disclosed by the agency, telephony operators can request licensing and activation of 5G stations in these municipalities from this Wednesday (25). Thus, upon coordination, the antennas will be turned on and the signal can be offered to the operators’ clients.

  • Pure 5G/SA (offline): Using only 5G technology, this option will provide the best speed and latency for users using this network.
  • 5G NSA (non-standalone): It uses a 5G signal but uses part of the core 4G network. The result is high speed but no latency.
  • 5G DDS: This is a technology that uses the 4G frequency to provide Internet at speeds up to 100 Mbps. This is not real 5G.
