Apple introduced iOS 16 at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2022. This operating system is full of both visual and functional improvements. But it’s true that this isn’t the most stable release in recent years. Sometimes apps crash, sometimes battery drains too fast, iPhone gets too hot, etc. Although it is true that it has improved a lot with iOS 16.3, it is clear that it is sometimes not as expected from a company like Apple.

Anyway, I’m writing this to talk about iOS 17, not iOS 16. This will be the next version of iOS released by Apple, and the next when the new iPhone 15 will come out of the box. . Today I want to tell you everything I know about this new operating system (codename Dawn).

I don’t think there will be any visual changes. This version of iOS will focus more on stability and performance. Also, as Mark Gurman predicted, less resources are spent on its development due to the release of Apple’s virtual reality headset. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be new features in iOS 17.

I understand Apple is planning some changes to the Music app. I can’t share anything very specific, it will only be about the navigation of the app. The Mail app will be made a little simpler with improved reminders and files. Apple plans to make minor changes to Fitness and Wallet as well (maybe related to Apple Pay Later, but I can’t confirm anything). There will be major changes in the settings of the Home app and the Find-My app.

There are a few interesting things about iOS 17. The first is a new app that supports AR/VR headsets. The concept will be similar to the Watch app, but with significantly more features. Apple could use this to bring this technology to the iPhone, but that’s just speculation.

On the other hand, there are a few things in the iOS 17 code that can give clues about the iPhone 15. According to my sources iOS 17 will run on 6 models (iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15). , iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max), confirms from Dynamic Island that four iPhone 15 models will remove the notch.

Another interesting point is that although there are 4 models with USB-C ports according to the code, there will be two iPhone models that will support data transfer rates similar to USB 3.2 technology. This is bad news for those hoping to buy an iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus, as transfer speeds will be similar to those of the Lightning port, even if they’re using a USB-C port.

From my sources it looks like the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra will be an upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro. Not only will it be a bigger screen, but the imaging software will also be more advanced (although I doubt Apple will make it public). On the other hand, it looks like the chip in this iPhone will have more freedom than the iPhone 15 Pro before the software limits it to avoid high temperatures, so I understand that the cooling system on the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra would be better. I doubt Apple will make this public, though. Source
